MY SKIN TRANSFORMATION
I get more comments on my skin now than I ever have. And while I am really learning to accept compliments, I know it’s because of the work I’ve been putting in each morning and evening. I’m so happy with where I’m at with my skin. I remember the pivotal moment when I looked into the mirror gasping at what looked like a mustache, which turned out to be Melasma from pregnancy. It was horrifying, and that started it all.
I can feel a change in my confidence, my skin is glowing. Something I’ve been struggling with for nine years. I want to be real though, like most things in life there isn’t a silver bullet, no one magic potion- so I’m going to list the things that I really think are what made/making the difference in my skin. I realize some people may not want to spend what I do on skincare, but it’s one of my biggest priorities. I’ll choose quality skincare over a new wardrobe item any day of the week.
Some of these are affiliate links, but they’re products I use daily and want to share what’s working for me!
1.) STARTING WITH A SOLID CLEANSING ROUTINE
One of the biggest things I’ve learned in my skincare journey is I can spend all of the money in the world on products, but if my skin isn’t clean and exfoliated, it’s not ready to uptake these products. I use the Lancer Method every single morning and evening before putting any product on my face. I truly believe this process has been pivotal in letting the rest of my products really work- specifically the exfoliator. I have oily or combination skin and have tried both normal and oily Lancer skin regimens. I much prefer the normal skin regimen over the oily.
2.) SKIN PEELS
I started using chemical peels before I changed my cleansing regimen and noticed a lot of change. But the past year I’ve really noticed the peels working better, I think it’s due to beginning with the Lancer Method then using my peels. I’ve tried a lot of different peels and right now my favorite is the Caviar Acid Lime Peel by Lancer. I use my regular cleansing regimen followed by the peel a few times a week. My skin feels so soft and fresh when I rinse the peel off. It’s an instant transformation.
3.) MICRODERMABRASIAN TOOL
I’ve been using a microdermabrasion tool for a little over a year and it really makes a difference in the texture and complexion of my skin. I use the PMD At Home Microdermabrasion tool once a week. Sometimes I’ll use it more than once if I haven’t used peels as often. I use my cleansing regimen, let my skin dry completely and then use the microdermabrasian tool on my face and neck, every now and then I’ll use it on my chest. Once your skin gets used to one of the interchangeable heads, you can change it out to a more aggressive head. The amount of dead skin and congestion this tool gets out is gross and exciting all at once, especially when you think it got all of that off after exfoliating and cleansing. This tool also helps prepare my skin to soak up other products.
5.) VITAMIN C TREATMENT
I’ve tried more brightening serums than you can imagine. As a matter of fact, brightening serums was the first higher end beauty product I purchased years ago. I am loving Lancer’s Instant Brightening Booster. My skin is absolutely glowing after I began using this product. One thing I really like is that they tell you the percentage of vitamin C in the product. Many products will say vitamin C serum without including the percentage. This product really helps with sun spots and overall glow.
I’ve always had oily skin and large pores. It wasn’t until this past year that I realized there was a product that really helps combat pore size. The ingredient is Niacinimide, and my favorite one is Paula’s Choice Clinical Niacinimide 20%. This is one of the highest potency Niacinimide products I’ve found on the market. After I started using this serum in the mornings I noticed results almost instantly. My pores were much smaller which reduced my skin congestion, improving the overall clarity of my skin.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned about skincare is to be consistent. I almost never go to bed without my skincare regimen. I’ve upped my regimen and routine and honestly love every morning and evening when I get to use them. I love watching my skin change and the vibrancy I’m seeing each time I look in the mirror.
