I went from a 9-to-5 with a side hustle, to the owner of 3 businesses all while having 3 babies and oh yea, running a ranch. I've streamlined the process of running businesses so I can live a life I love every day, not just living for the weekend. I'm also a foodie, lover of beauty products, and an outdoor enthusiast.

I'm

It’s crazy to say 2023! I absolutely love the New Year, the new beginnings, the fresh outlook on everything, the planning, the goals… and I really feel like this year is going to be full of big amazing changes. My husband and I are in a space where we’re really getting clear on what we want, what we don’t, and planning exactly how to get there. Here’s what I’m hoping this year holds.

What Didn’t Work

Not being ready to go from all three kids in daycare to only one in daycare. We’ve spent a massive amount of money in daycare to allow both Adam and I to work- which we needed to. When school let out for summer break we made a last minute decision to keep the boys at home and leave Nola in daycare. While the savings were nice, the schedule wasn’t really planned. Some days were great, some were a blur, and some days were really hard. I had to juggle the working mom life with making sure my boys had a fun, fulfilled summer. And that put a lot of pressure on me. Since school resumed last fall, we’ve done much better with our routines after school, and me with my schedule.

The massive amount of mechanical failures. Slow blink. I honestly cannot wrap my head around all of the money we’ve spent, time Adam has spent dealing with these issues, lost billable hours for his business, and stress it has caused. As I type this we’re going through another round of it. Yes, you read that correctly. We’re about to dish out another large chunk of change on a relatively new vehicle. The not so fun part is, there is no good answer. Fun.

Working out. When I started working full-time for myself several years ago I got a gym membership in town. Every morning after I took the kids to daycare I would go workout. While it was nice, I didn’t get home and at my desk to work until 10:30-11 most days. Getting back into a workout routine that works for us living rurally isn’t easy, but I feel I’m getting there.

What I’m Excited About

I’m excited to adventure more. I grew up hiking and adventuring, and while we’ve certainly been doing a lot more of it, I’m excited to really get out and see new places. Now that the kids are getting to a more manageable age to travel and hike, we’ve been planning places we want to go, I’ve been saving trails I want to hike in my app, and just really excited to show my kids new places.

I’m excited about letting go of things that aren’t working in business. My major boundary setting in 2022 in business has created so much freedom. I’m full steam ahead on the clarity of what I do and don’t want, and the type of clients I do and don’t want to work with, and am putting the pedal to the floor on boundary setting.

I’m excited for my health journey. Adam and I have really been looking at health differently the past two years, him especially, and I’m really excited to see where that takes us. We both want to show our kids through example what healthy eating looks like and getting exercise. We’ve been working out in our shop, hiking the bluff below our house and through the hills on our property. We’re working towards making routines that are doable for us and our rural lifestyle.

I’m really excited for the major changes I’ve got in store for my business. I’m a very capable person and I’m excited to let my creativity flow. This will only happen through a dedicated time management system which I’ve been implementing and absolutely loving.

Cheers
